Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
Is a future-focused, goal-directed therapeutic modality that focuses on solutions, rather than on the problems.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Problems are created from the pattern of unhelpful, unconscious thoughts and behaviors.
Dialectical Behavioral-Informed Therapy (DBT)
Similar to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but adds skills to help you live in the moment, regulate emotions, and improve your relationships with others.
Disclaimer: I do not offer the full DBT protocols: i.e. skills groups, 24/7 access, or have a treatment team.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Primarily used to treat trauma-related issues. Believes that traumatic material and other adverse life experiences were not appropriate adapted into the body and brain. Using external stimulus in a bi-lateral (across the body) movement helps that material to become adaptive.
Disclaimer: I currently hold a Certificate of Completion for EMDR, which means I’m allowed to provide EMDR services but can’t call myself “trained/certified”.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
A specific approach acknowledges and recognizes the complexity of how trauma influences all parts of a person’s life. Often there’s no one, size fits all approach when addressing trauma, but conducting therapy without re-traumatizing the person is the goal.
Mindfulness
By creating the perspective of having conscious awareness of the present moment, with openness and non-judgmental approach to the experience, creates a space to reconsider/consider what’s happening.
